Asunder (Incarnate #2)

by Jodi Meadows

Darksouls
Ana has always been the only one. Asunder. Apart. But after Templedark, when many residents of Heart were lost forever, some hold Ana responsible for the darksouls—and the newsouls who may be born in their place.

Shadows
Many are afraid of Ana’s presence, a constant reminder of unstoppable changes. When sylph begin behaving differently toward her and people turn violent, Ana must learn to stand up not only for herself but for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

Love
Ana was told that nosouls can’t love. But newsouls? More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection.

In the second book of Jodi Meadows’s Incarnate trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. asunder explores the beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.

Before I start telling you how awesome this book cover is, let me tell you that I love this series. I read Incarnate during my Thanksgiving break last year, and ugh, it’s so amazing and new, and wonderful that words couldn’t begin to describe the writing, and world that Jodi Meadows created.

Now, look at this cover isn’t it amazing, and colorful. I love the spirit vibe of it. The sort of glow and beauty that surrounds Ana. The books are about souls reincarnating, and I can totally see the visual aspect of the cover related to the book. The serenity and beauty of the soul is shown clearly in Ana’s eyes, and the wonderful flower that surrounds them. In the last book and cover, her eyes were surrounded by a butterfly, and it related to the story. I can’t wait to see how this flower does as well. I need to read this book so bad. Also, I can’t help to notice that Ana seems to have grown from that innocent look in book one, to this cover. She seems more powerful and like she knows who she is now. Her face just says, yes I’m a new soul now what?

Do you love the cover as well and have you read Incarnate? Let me know in the comments.

Look at the two books together, can you see the amazing transformation that Ana seems to take. She looks like she has grown from that innocent look right? Click on the covers to buy them.

Book Cover Spotlight #2

I know that a lot of you are used to seeing cover models on covers, which are usually only showing half of their faces, or hands or some part of their bodies. However, I find this cover actually really beautiful. I love the warm sensation that the sky gives in the background. If I’m right, this probably envisions the heat or some sort of change in the book into a more dangerous tone. I love how the dress disappears with the dark background. The posture of each model is done right, not awkwardly or weird like some covers tend to do. In fact the first cover for this book series – Sweet Evil – The guy is holding his hand over his mouth and it seems weird to me. I love the cover nonetheless, but it just looks weird. However, this cover overshadows that and brings the beauty and the enchanting allure for readers to pick it up.  All in all, I love this cover. Now do you like this cover, too? Let me know in the comments.

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?
